As a qualified Mountain Leader, Alistair has led over 40 international expeditions, holds numerous NEBOSH and CIEH safety qualifications, is an instructor in Off-Site Safety Management and is an experienced remote trauma medic.
Alistair advises the media on overseas programmes including “SAS are you tough enough” and the ground breaking “Human Planet” series where he was employed as the medical advisor, responsible for the pre-departure planning, training and health advice of the crews.
Alistair holds a variety of Health & Safety qualifications including the NEBOSH National General Certificate, is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, fellow of the Linnean Society, fellow of the Institure of Travel & Tourism, member of the European Resuscitation Council, has lectured at both the Royal Geographic Society and National Geographic and is the previous chair of the Expedition Providers Association (EPA).
Alistair is also a guest lecturer at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, sat on the FPHC Expedition Medicine Working Group at the Royal College of Surgeons and is the chief instructor of faculty at the Expedition Care Program.
